What is a Thin Skin Finish? Simply put, the amount of finish used is less then what would be typical on most guitars. Our Thin Skin finish is a couple coats of finish sprayed on the neck, letting dry and buffing out, that's it. Most Guitars have a thicker (Mill) finish. In many circles when it comes to neck finish (and body finishes for that matter), less is better. Sonically speaking, you want to minimize the amount of finish as to preserve the resonant frequency of the wood. To give you an Idea of what we mean, as an experiment, dip a tuning fork in any guitar finish, be it Nitro or other, let it dry and see if it sounds the same with the finish on it.

Important! We will ream tuner holes to 10mm and will drill the standard 4 neck mounting holes at no additional charge at your request.  Requests must accompany paypal payment.
