The Indo-Taco! Inspired by a trip to the Jimi Hendrix Museum in Seattle, I dreamed of owning an Arctic White Fender Stratocaster as Jimi's famous "Woodstock Strat". I was able to pick up a 2003 Fender Squire Strat at a local music store that was going out of business for a "too good to be true" price. Although the body of the guitar was flawless, I found the neck unacceptable to my picky standards. After a few weeks of searching, I found a 60th Anniversary Mexican Strat neck on eBay and had it professionally installed and setup by Marc Touche at Live Music in Baton Rouge. A buddy donated the tuning pegs from a Mexican Strat he owns and had upgraded. I then ordered a replacement 3-ply pickguard, 3-ply back plate, plain neck plate, tremolo bridge assembly from Fender Genuine Parts to spruce up the quality and appearance. Also, I had a brand new Seymour Duncan SHR-1 Hot Rails (black) professionally installed and wired. A slight hum from the original installation was later corrected by Marc at Live Music during the neck set up.

The guitar is in absolute mint condition, professionally setup and has actually never been played at any gigs or practices. I do not have the original tremolo arm, as it didn't come with one from the music store. To ensure maximum sustain, my friend machined me a custom fitted Maple block to jam the bridge. The original tremolo system can be easily re-utilized by simply removing the wood block, adjusting the springs and supplying a tremolo arm. It has been stored in a hard case and is in immaculate condition. A huge amount of time and money was spent on this project, but regretfully I need to let it go.
