Fender Stratocaster

I bought this guitar near 10 years ago from an authorised Fender dealer located on Parramatta Road near Sydney CBD

Apart from a very few 'strums of appreciation' and cleaning sessions/re-strings over the years it has been kept stored in its hardcase since I bought it.

It has zero play wear from my ownership & very little from prior.

These are quite rare - in fact a verification email from Fender USA staff state only 60 made of the Maple Fingerboard ( with a further 70 with rosewood fingerboards )

So, it's one of 60 , & already 16 years old.

These were made as part of same production runs as the likes of the USA Harley Davidson Stratocaster ( ebay item # 290535973756 @ around USD$30,000 ) , the USA Fender Aloha Stratocaster ( ebay item # 170612657764 @ around the USD$12,000 mark ), & recently sold Flamingo Aluminium Strat @ USD $45,000 -

I'm usually curious when I see an electric guitar advertised on ebay without strings - Please don't be concerned in this instance. Guitar was taken out of storage and the aged strings removed before cleaning & taking photographs. New strings will be installed before despatch, or if preferred by buyer I will leave off , but include the strings in the case ( just in case own strings are preferred ).

I will say that this guitar has had the same great playing action since the day I bought it - it has never needed any major set-up changes over the approx 10 years I've owned it. As mentioned it was privately owned by a Fender dealer here in Sydney

The neck is very straight now, as it has been since purchase.

After playing this guitar I couldn't help but wonder why more instruments aren't made from chambered metal bodies.

Huge amount of sustain without plugging in, with what seems additional drive capacity when amplified , ie seems to drive amps & effects harder/with more gain than normal Strats.

Frets are in excellent condition, with a clean & polish they'd come up like new

There's not much from keeping this guitar from perfection -

• 
  a very small area of the edge of arch contour on back of body appears to have a topcoat of clear lacquer rubbed through. This is unusual as the rest of the guitar doesnt look or feel as if it has a thick clear gloss coat over the anodized aluminium. It isn't that major & can be seen in the photo below. Also worth mention is that it isn't as if it the exposed edges are inclined to easily peel further - been like this since I bought it - and has been without change. The anodized aluminium blue color of that area HAS NOT RUBBED OFF, OR THROUGH.


• 
  2 of the smallest lacquer dings behind first fret ( 1/4 of match head sized and can only just be felt by hand...and you really have to go looking for this ). Lacquer on back of neck has some minor hairline longitudinal lacquer checking which is not uncommom with Stratocasters as they start to age....these CANNOT BE FELT BY HAND. I've tried to show this in photo below

This guitar has been a joy to own and is a great addition to an American made Fender Stratocaster collection.

This guitar always strikes up interest & conversation with those who view it & I think value wise will only go up over time.
