Fender Stratocaster '83 Smith Strat Black Rosewood MINT

This is the 1983 "Smith" or "two knob" Strat, which nobody liked at the time, although they were way, way better than the crappy CBS junk they replaced.  Gradually, people who original thought these were not happening guitars (like me, for instance) have discovered that they are actually totally cool, because of the Charvel like necks and the different meatier yet definitely Strat-y sound and the blade edge tremolo that can actually be made to work very nicely. I'm crazy about my '83's now and my playing goes straight to hell whenever I try to use anything else.

This particular guitar has several rare characteristics. The black finish is a little unusual. The rosewood neck is more unusual for this year and the fact that it is stone mint is highly unusual. I'd have to say that you are just not going to find another one in this condition anywhere unless it's still hanging on the wall in some guitar store in Tierra Del Fuego that hasn't had any customers in the last 28 years. Actually, even then it would probably have more wear than this one. This is truly one of those fabled nobody-ever-played-it Closet Classics.
Everything on this guitar is correct, original and in pristine condition. It also has some nice figure in the maple on the back of the neck. It has the original correct case in excellent shape and, as an added bonus, all of the original case candy and the hard-to-find tremolo arm that everybody usually loses.

That's a bit of a leaf you see here, not a scratch.
